We like to think of ourselves as three distinct individuals with separate outside interests and hobbies, however we are identical in our primary interest, managing your oral and maxillofacial needs in the safest and most effective ways possible. When visiting our office, every staff member will treat you with respect and dignity. We would like you to feel comfortable asking questions and expressing any concerns that you may have. During your visit to our offices, you may be examined and treated by Dr. Barbieri, Dr. Colameo or Dr. Berardo. Our educational and specialty training backgrounds are quite similar, as we have been together throughout our entire educational and professional careers. This longevity has fostered a deep mutual respect and confidence in each other. We have been in practice as a group since 1985 and combine over 75 years of clinical experience that will be used to ensure the best possible resolution to your oral and maxillofacial problem. Be assured that if you have a specific recommendation or referral from your dentist, physician, or another individual for a specific doctor, your request will be honored. Over the years we have expanded our facilities to include three modern, spacious offices spanning Bergen and Hudson counties. We currently maintain a strong affiliation with Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Berardo resides as the Chief of the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at what is now recognized as the largest private medical center in the state of New Jersey. We are proud of the fact that all the doctors in our practice are Diplomates of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This assures you that we have graduated from an accredited dental school and are licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey. In addition we have completed an accredited hospital based Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program of at least four years duration. Residency training within a hospital (including an outpatient facility) includes extensive exposure to all aspects of oral and maxillofacial care This exposure includes graduate education and training in medical and surgical disciplines such as internal medicine, anesthesia, plastic surgery, pathology and general surgery. These surgical training programs are recognized and fully accredited by the American Dental Association. Following the completion of an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program we all elected to commit ourselves to achieving the highest honor a specialist can achieve, Diplomate status. This achievement required 12 months of elective preparation followed by a rigorous 2 day, written and oral examination given by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The designation of Diplomate represents the highest credentialing status within the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In closing we would like to emphasize that we are long-time Bergen County residents. Our roots lie within our local communities, where we all reside with our wives and children for over 25 years. We have been proactive in our local communities and schools by promoting sports safety and prevention of oro-facial injuries. We have practiced together throughout our professional careers and this enabled us to lay the foundation for our strong partnership and a coordinated interactive practice philosophy. This philosophy views every patient as a unique individual who is entitled to the safest, most appropriate treatment in a comfortable, relaxed environment. We strive to continue to build on this foundation by furthering the education of both the staff and doctors. This principle is constantly stressed and continues to be one of our highest priorities.
